HubSpot will retire API keys - how to prepare for the upcoming changes

From November 30, 2022, HubSpot will retire API keys to increase security and give their customers more control and flexibility over their data & privacy. This means that on that date, all integrations deployed using this method will stop working. To prevent important, business critical integrations from breaking, HubSpot CRM users should consider alternative methods to integrate platforms such as a managed integration platform as a service solution (iPaaS).

Why this change?

The API key method is one of three authentication methods currently available to integrate HubSpot with your other business platforms To increase security and protect customers' data and privacy, this will be retired with the introduction of Private Apps.

What does this mean for HubSpot Users?

This means that from November 30, 2022, all integrations that have been deployed using API key authentication method will not work.

What can you do?

1. Migrate to a private app

Migrate to Private Apps before the deadline to ensure that that your integrations keep working as usual. HubSpot has provided detailed instructions on migrating, read more here: https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/migrate-an-api-key-integration-to-a-private-app

2. Use an integration platform service

APIs are always changing, but utilizing an iPaaS solution, such as Exelement SyncCloud's fully managed iPaaS service saves you lots of effort and hours with managing and connecting two or more business-critical applications and services.

Integration Platform As a Service (iPaaS) solutions acts as a go-between between tools that do not usually communicate with each other e.g. connecting your organisation’s CRM to Marketing Automation service or invoicing service. It centralizes all your organisations integrations and datapoints in one place, making sure data is synchronised and up-to-date on all platforms.

When you build your integration with Exelement SyncCloud's fully managed iPaaS service, our team not only integrate your platforms and migrate your data, but also handle any updating & debugging issues that can arise when working with third-party APIs, ensuring that all your integrations are always running and up-to-date.

Exelement SyncCloud offers a fully managed iPaaS service with the possibility of integrating 300+ apps in days, not months at a fraction of the cost. Download the whitepaper or get in touch with us today for a free, no obligation consultation to discuss your integration needs.
